It depends on the tour. Please refer to the tour description on the page of “Tours”.

How fit do I need to be to join the tours?
The walks are generally leisurely and not too strenuous, allowing you time to take in the area’s flora and fauna.
Some trails include slopes and Kayak tours require a good level of physical fitness. Please refer to the tour description (Elevation Gain and Distance) on the “Hiking Tours” page and [Tour Details] for kayaking on the “Kayak Tours” page.
What should I wear and bring on Hiking Tours?
Long-sleeved tops (or lightweight hoodie) and long pants. We highly recommend long clothes, even in summer. Insects, including ticks, are common in Hokkaido’s forests. Long sleeves and pants will protect you from them and the rays of the sun, too.
Hiking shoes.
Waterproof rainsuit (jacket & pants). These are essential not just on rainy days, but to protect you from wind chill.
Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
Water preferably in a refillable bottle
Personal medication (including for asthma and allergies).
Fleece or synthetic insulated jacket for a cold day.
Walking poles, a pair of gaiters, camera, binoculars (recommended)
