Miyama-zakura (Cerasus maximowiczii) trees have bloomed in my garden. Miyama means “deep mountain” in Japanese. It is a wild cherry tree usually found in mountainous areas and has a different charm from the Somei-yoshino found in Honshu, the main island in Japan.
